Stunning piece! I love everything about it, great composition perfect choice of colours great use of highlights and shadows and the background really flatters the subject and creates a nice eye flow. I think the small dangling pieces from the horns are a bit distracting, only because I can't really figure out their meaning, they're just "there". Hard to explain, very minor detail though because overall this is amazing!

Ahhh, saw this over on conceptart.org and was waiting for it to pop up here Stunning piece mate, i'm a big fan of the ChoW thread. I'm still not great with painting colour over a b&w base, so i admire your painterly turnout. I think the only crit i have is i may have cropped it a little bit tighter but that is a nit pick. ahh thanks everyone yeah I've had mixed feedbacks on the horns.. some people love it and some people find it distracting.. and those things hanging are the name tags, dead peoples' names... it was a to soften the overall look of the horn and break the strong shape as well.. thanks for the comments.. and for painting steps if anyone is interested.. here linked to a post in CA. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1311836&postcount=1835 thanks again for the kind words everyone !! appreciate it cheers, Min

I love the style. It's almost like Justin Sweets's style. I do feel that the technique you used to paint the hors don't quite fit in with the style of the rest, but it's just my personal opinion. In any case, it's well painted! Thumbs up!
